The musty odor stirred in swirling puffs of wind that licked the edge of the field. The sound of rustling leaves, first loud, then shifting away across the field. Brown-headed Cowbirds chirp a morning salute as they flit across the grain field. Blood red rises into the clouds, announcing the coming morning. The comfortable morning will soon bake away.
