Super Moon

I went out running around the city at sunset yesterday, trying to locate something that would fit with the "Super Moon."  I was able to get a few nice shots, and also discovered something to put in the kit for location photography - Backwoods OFF.  Oh my Lord!  We were nearly sucked into the E.R. due to the swarm that hit.  I have never been attacked by a swarm of mosquitos quite like that.

Like I said, I did end up with some shots so it was worth the pain.  For those you want to know where to start photographing the moon: I say start around ISO100, set your camera to manual - shutter to about 1/125, and f-stop to f8.  Like I say this is a starting point.  A 300mm lens or larger is best.  If you have a larger sensor (megapixels), you can fudge this a bit by cropping in post production.  Happy hunting!
